Before we left for our daily ride on the subway we hit up a Patisserie (bakery) on our street to get brunch. We both got pitas. Ham for me and chicken for Eric. We also finally found a religeuse, a pastry that our friend Dave had been raving to us about and apparently spent hundreds of dollars on on his mission to France. haha We walked to the subway to eat our lunch while we waited. I bit into my FATTY ham pita and started gagging. Another delicious meal in france. (my friend Erika swears that french food is good, i guess we just didn't know how to pick the places)Two pastries for lunch for me.
Eric with his religeuse pastry First stop was the Arc de Triomphe. The arc honors those who fought in France.
Inside the arc. I love all the detailing. The flowers were carved out and looked so cool. On the inside and top of the arc there are names of generals and wars fought.
Under the Arc de Triomphe is the tomb of the unknown soldier from WWI.
It is the second largest triumphal arc in excistence.
Champs Elysees is on the same street as the Arc de Triomphe so we headed down there next. It is a prestigious avenue and one of the most famous streets in the world. This is one of the pretty christmas displays they had along the street. This is in front of a wireless phone carrier. Apparently some workers went in there from a sister company and were complaining about poor work conditions and one of the workers pushed one of them. So the police were there to monitor the situation. I guess they strike all the time over here. It was amusing. Tons of people were gathered around shouting and taking pictures.
A cool car in Toyota
In front of a cute choclatier.
This is what you think it is. Eric said it was one of his favorite parts of the trip. Boys. And, yes, we did see someone step in it.
My favorite part was when the lights came on at night. The street is 1.25 miles long and has identical trees lining the whole thing so it looked so pretty when they were all turned on.

We ate at a sushi place for dinner. Best meal I had while we were there.
