The baby is back

I've been watching my good friends little 5 month old daughter every other Tuesday for the last little while and Sierra has been so funny with her. All of a sudden she has started walking around with a pacifier in her mouth (which she never even did when she was a baby) because she sees the baby doing it. She also has decided to start using her little bouncer as a lazy boy chair because she sees the baby laying in it. It's pretty funny.

We finally went to Sierra's 15 month appointment yesterday (she is almost 17 months old). She is average height (between 25th and 50th) but below the 5th percentile for weight. I swear she is totally healthy and developing perfectly. I don't know what the deal is with her being such a mini. my doctor did say that she had really pretty skin though and asked me if I've been moisturizing her (which i do every day) so at least i get points for that. haha Some new things-she has started walking down the stairs like a real girl.

she is OBSESSED with her doll, bear AND lamb. She gets frantic when we go to get her out of her crib and starts racing around gathering all of them. it's really funny. she carries them around all day and if she hasn't seen one for a little while and spots it she gets really excited.

She loves to twirl and then stop to see if she's dizzy. she dances whenever music comes on.
New words-grandma(mama), grandpa(bapa), cheese, juice, doggie, ball, balloon, light, shoes, easy, ear, mouth (mow).

Thanksgiving

This year we stayed around here for thanksgiving and went to Eric's Aunt Carol's house. It's so nice to have family near by. Aunt Carol and Eric's mom went all out as usual and made way too much food. Everything was delicious. To give you an example of their out of controlness, here is a list of just the desserts that they made:
2 apple pies
2 pumpkin pies
chocolate cheesecake
pavlova
frozen strawberry dessert
lemon bars
seven layer bars
pumpkin roll
All for 12 people. To give you an example of how much of a fatty i was on thanksgiving, lets just say i had all of the desserts except for one.
Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures this year, but I did get a couple pics of Sierra in a little tugboat that Aunt Carol pulled out for her and a video of her on a slide that she LOVED. It kept her entertained for HOURS. She didn't take a nap at all that day. That's how much she loved the slide.

There are so many things to be thankful for this year. But most of all I am so thankful for my beautiful little daughter who gives me hours of entertainment, my wonderful husband, our families who are such a good example to us and all of our good friends. We are healthy, happy, and have everything that we need and more!
Oh, and did I mention that I get to go to Paris on Saturday for a week with Eric? I'm pretty thankful for that too!
I hope everyone else had a memorable thanksgiving this year too!

Halloween Party

I've never really cared that much about Halloween before, but now that Sierra is getting older and we have more family arond this year (Ryan and Alyssa), we decided to throw a halloween party! It was so much fun! I loved decorating for it! Halloween just might be one of my favorite holidays from now on. I can't wait to do it again next year!

We got a fog machine and everytime it went off Sierra was TERRIFIED of it.

I made this table cloth out of masking tape.
Alyssa's yummy cupcakes

Our neighbour is obsessed with Halloween. He was walking up and down the street dressed like that and they always go all out with their decorations. Too bad we only get like 10 trick or treaters.
These were fun to decorate

Trunk or Treat

Barbie, Ken and a little fairy
People thought we were Heidi and Spencer. They also guessed I was Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton. hahaha

Sierra and her cute little witch friend Victoria
Danny and Sandy showed up fashionably late
Sandy and Barbie just hangin out in the hall of the church. No big deal.
Ken and Danny showing their true colors.
It was fun to dress up this year, even if they were minimal costumes. Eric's wig was the most hilarious thing. It was just so hideous, no one could take it.
The cutest little baker. I used to team teach primary with this lady. She is a hoot. (did i really just say hoot?)
The fairy was pretty tired on the way home
But don't worry, she perked right up once we got her in the door and was ready for more partying.

Pumpkin Picking

All the pumpkins were green by the time we got to the patch. I think that's why Sierra's making that face.

She wasn't too sure about sitting on the pumpkins.
She liked the little maze.

After our pumpkin picking adventure we went to Broom's Bloom to get some yummy Ice Cream. They have the best flavors. We got black raspberry, chocolate, banana peanut butter and rice pudding

Whenever Sierra really likes something she starts bouncing into the back of the chair. It's really funny. She LOVES ice cream.

Pumpkin Carving

Last weekend we decided that the weather was never going to co-operate enough for us to go to the pumpkin patch so we finally gave in and bought a pumpkin at the grocery store. I hate the rain. 90% of the time.
This year I wanted to do something other than a face. Actually Eric and I have never carved pumpkins together in the 4 years that we've been married. So I guess I haven't really carved a pumpkin probably since I was like 17. haha Kind of sad. But it's mostly because we've lived in an apartment and for some reason I didn't think we could display a carved pumpkin in our home. Apparently it had to be on an outside porch which we didn't have.

Busy Bee In A Small Fur Coat

Sierra has been such a busy bee lately. She seriously never sits down for more than 3 seconds. She is constantly going from one thing to another. She's been learning lots of new words too. She says:

dora-she loves the yoplait yogurt with dora on it. everytime she sees it she says 'dora!' it's really cute.

lambie-pronounced 'mamie' or 'mimi' she has the cutest little stuffed lamb that she got when she was a newborn but has just recently taken a liking to it. she carries it around and pats it on the head.

ew-hilarious. she had a hair on her once and i pulled it off and said ew and now she'll say it anytime i say it.

baby-pronounced 'dee'. anytime she sees a picture of a baby or a baby anywhere.

doggie-pronounced 'daw-ee'. eric's parents have 2 little dogs. sierra is so funny with them. she always tells them 'no no' and she'll push them away and get really annoyed if they get too close to her. but she loves to feed them everything.

roar-she has a book that has a dinosaur on one of the pages and everytime she sees him she says 'roar!'.

eye-she mostly just likes to gouge your eye out with her scrawny little finger and say eye. she does get confused though and calls eye 'nose' frequently.

So she's coming along with her vocabulary. i love it. i can't wait till she is putting sentences together.

In other news, i weighed her tonight on the scale and according to it she is 18.2 lbs. I'm sure it's not completely accurate but she is a peanut. it is impossible to find pants to fit her. i am a delinquent parent and basically missed her 15 month appointment because by the time i got around to making it the earliest opening they had was actually at her 18 month point. oops.

these pictures are of her in her fur coat that never ended up fitting her last year because the body was so huge. but now the body fits her and the arms are massively short. it was funny watching her walk around it. i guess we'll be saving it for our next baby girl who needs to be really fat? haha i'm pretty sure that coat wouldnt fit any 3-6 month old.
