Seth Turns One!

Last weekend Sierra's little friend Seth (who is only 6 days younger than her) had a birthday party with all of his friends. I wasn't going to do a post about this since I didn't take any pictures but I just read Megan's blog (Seth's mommy) and HAD to steal her picture of all the kiddies and post it because it is SO cute! There are 6 babies the same age in our ward (well 5 now, one moved out of our boundaries but is still close) and it was really funny trying to get a picture of all of them.

Aren't they adorable? I love how every one of them is looking a different way and is so distracted. Thanks for the fun party Seth, Megan & Jon!

Our Little One Year Old

Since I haven't updated Sierra's accomplishments since she was 10 months old I thought I better get on that before she's 2 and i've forgotten everything!
So in the last 2 and a half months Sierra has:
-learned how to go DOWN the stairs. So basically if i let her she will go up and down both flights all day long. she is OBSESSED.
-she stands really good by herself and has taken several steps! she is well on her way to walking. (she took her first steps on her 1st birthday party 2 days before her birthday)
-she loves opening the cupboards and taking everything out of them. especially the spices, zip-loc bags and dish towels.
-she says no, uh-oh, thank-you (sounds more like dah doo) and will try to imitate pretty much anything we say.
-she loves the couch. if you put her up there she gets really hyper and starts laughing and throws herself against the cushions and falls down. and if you are sitting on the floor in front of the couch and look back at her she thnks it's hysterical.
-she has 9 teeth. one is a molar.
-she weighs 16 lbs 6 oz and 29 inches tall.
-she loves the water
-she is a climber. she always finds a way to get over any barrier we create. especially one that blocks the stairs.

VERY pleased with herself for getting over it. rascal.

Hippo Pool

Sierra got a little hippo baby pool for her birthday from her Uncle Kye (Eric's oldest brother)she was so funny in it the first time I filled it up. She loved it for the first 5 minutes and then she just kept wanting to crawl out and go on the grass. The only problem is that our grass is HIDEOUS. It's really rough and patchy and so she didn't want to crawl on it and she was walking on her hands and feet like a little monkey. If you've spent any time with Sierra you know she is OBSESSED with the stairs. So the best part about the whole thing was that all she cared about was trying to get over to the stairs from the pool and those are hideous too. They're rough and not good for little baby knees.

this video is random, i'm not sure why I took it, but she's just so cute so I guess I'll post it anyways. haha

Birthday Day

We had Sierra's party on Saturday so Eric's whole family could be there. Monday was her actual birthday. We took her to feed the ducks at a cute little park (she was pretty much terrified of them) and then we went to cold stone which she of course LOVED! I can't believe my tiny little baby is ONE already!

1st Birthday Photoshoot

While I was in Canada my sister Heather took pictures of Sierra for her 1st Birthday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. She does such a good job. She took somewhere around 100 pictures so its going to be really hard to just choose a few but I'll show you my favorites.

The Last Days

I was actually at home for father's day this year for the first time in like 5 years which was nice. And it was Eric's first father's day!

On Monday we went to the beach (or the lake, whatever, it's a beach in Canada :) It was Sierra's first time in the sand and she LOVED it! Of course she tested the sand a few times and didn't seem to mind the taste too much she also loved the water and wanted to swim by herself. haha

Here she is splashing in the water:

When we got back we all met up for dinner since two of my aunt's were in town from Chicago and California (my mom, her two sister's and my grandma left the next day for a girls trip to Ottawa)

Russ' first time paying with a credit card (he always uses cash)

Sierra tested out some lemons:

We also left the next day and Sierra did not enjoy the car ride so we had to make lots of stops to let her walk around and play. It was so much fun being at home for 3 weeks and it was really nice to get back to our home too!

On one of our stops on the way home. Sierra was SO excited to be out of the car.

She LOVES walking as long as she's holding on to your hands:
