Floors

When we bought our house the floors were not horrible but not exactly attractive. Eric planned on laying new wood floors when we moved in. He did the kitchen soon after but took a little longer to do the entry way and still has yet to do the main floor bathroom. I neglected to take a before picture of the kitchen so this time while he was doing the entry way I made sure to take pics. Here is our little journey into better looking floors:

9 Months

Our little baby turned 9 months old yesterday! She is getting so big! Or not so big because I took her to her 9 mo. appt. today and she only weighs 15 lbs 8oz and the pediatrition told me to start adding olive oil to her baby food to fatten her up. SICK. Other than that all is well and she is healthy and happy and active. Overly active in my opionion ;) She just had to get one shot today and was only mildly ticked compared to our last visits. New things the little rascal is up to this month:
-Standing and pulling herself up to any and everything that she can possibly reach. (she even goes one handed and her newest trick is bringing toys with her while she climbs)
-Walking holding on to whatever she's pulled herself up to
-Crawling like a real girl. No more of that amateur scooting stuff for her anymore. I guess she got bored of it after 5 months.
-Two new teeth, totalling 6 now! She got the ones on either side of her top front teeth. (and is still grinding those babies as faithfully as last month) On a side note we had a bit of a biting incident a couple of weeks back which was very painful and took 3 full days to heal. Lets just say I won't be trying to get her to laugh while nursing ever again.
-She had her first experience with grass a few days ago after a Sunday walk. She did not know what to think about it and kept lifting her foot off the ground and trying to re place it somewhere else. haha
-She can actually get food into her mouth now when she picks it up instead of losing it in her hand.
-She also loves slapping and hitting things and just the other day was hitting Eric on the head with the little suction thing they give you at the hospital and thought it was hilarious. Sadly I missed it.
Some new pictures and a video which pretty much sums up all of her tricks: When my mom was here visiting she bought Sierra a toy for 9 mos. and up. Sierra didn't want anything to do with it. Yesterday on the exact day she turns 9 mos. she starts playing with it! So funny. (ok, so i realize it's not that interesting to most people but my mom will like it lol)

And the video of everything combined (crawling, pulling up, walking, grinding teeth, slapping)

Laundry Lady

Eric is at a YM's activity, Sierra is sleeping and I am B O R E D. So I figured I'd do a random post. About what else? Sierra! Of course, what else do I have to talk about? lol
Lately Sierra has been obsessed with the laundry basket and the laundry inside of it. Nothing makes her happier than a nice clean fresh batch of laundry. It will entertain her for hours (well not really hours but longer than most things). She loves to pull herself up to it and just dig in the laundry. It is hilarious! She'll even lift herself so that her feet are off the floor and her head is buried in it.
She cracks me up.

Rubber Duckie

The lady I team teach with in primary gave me this little rubber duckie for Sierra. I thought it was so cute of her so I took a few pics of Sierra with it to give her.
Sierra loves it...and the bath.

Parent's Visit

Last week my parents were able to come visit us. It was my Dad's first time being to our new house so it was fun to have him come see it and for my parents to spend time with us and most importantly Sierra. :)

We mostly ate, shopped and just hung out while they were here. It was so fun and so much better having them stay with us now that we have more room!

Here are some pictures to illustrate the visit:

We miss you already! Come back soon!

8 Months

I feel like I just did the 7 months post. But, alas there are some new things to post about. The little girlie just keeps on growing and learning new things.

-she learned how to sit up on her own shortly after the seven months post.
-she now has 4 teeth. two on the top and two on the bottom. they are so sharp and so cute.
-the above has resulted in grinding those little pearly whites. it's terrible! it's torturous to listen to and she gets furious if i put my finger in her mouth to try to stop her.
-she just learned how to pull herself up into a standing postion holding on to something (as i mentioned in my last post) and is obsessed with trying to pull up onto everything now!
-we started giving her little puffs and pieces of toast, carrots and potatoes etc. we also got her a sippy cup which she likes to bite on and doesnt ever drink out of normally but still manages to get some out.
-she loves playing peekaboo (i dont know if it's really considered peekaboo. more like me throwing a blanket over her head and her trying to get it off)
-she's become quite the mommy's girl and reaches for me all the time now if someone else is holding her.
-she responds to her name
-she loves being outside and gets completely silent when she's out there.
-she also loves sitting in her stroller without the car seat and kicks her feet the whole time.
She is a hilarious little baby and i love spending my days with her.

Taking a Stand

This morning at 6 Sierra woke up and I fed her. I was too tired to stay up and play with the overly active girl so Iput her back in her crib to play while i caught a few more Z's. In the meantime Eric was getting ready for work. Just as I was drifting back off to sleep he called me to come look at her. This is what we saw: She's standing! SO funny. And we just lowered her crib mattress one notch two days ago. I guess we'll be lowering it again. Here is a video of the proud little girl:
