A High Chair

Up to this point we've been using a bumbo seat with the tray for a highchair. It's getting to the point where our little rascal tries to climb out of it and flips the tray off when she's eating.

Do not let this innocent face deceive you

The last few days I've been reading tons of reviews and looking at every high chair on the market. But it's so hard to decide! There is one that I'm leaning towards but I'm not completely sold on it just yet.
So I decided to turn to my blog and ask all of you experienced mothers what high chair(s) you've used and if you love them or hate them or know someone who loves theirs.
Please help! I need some advice!

we've only ever used a booster seat, to save on room & just have it on one of our chairs.

I have a friend who has a cool booster seat-ish thing that is a little seat without the legs of a chair, and it attaches onto your table, suspended in the air.

I love my Graco Classic Cherry Wood Highchair. But I'm not an experienced mother...I'm still very new to all of this!!

We have a graco high chair. I am not sure what kind...it is plastic with a light green print. I really like it alot. But our kitchen is really small so we do not even use it anymore. It was taking up so much room so we found a booster seat that hooks onto a kitchen chair and can slide right under the table.

I am actually with Katie...we used our highchair for a while but it just took up too much room and we wanted Ella to feel like she was actually at the dinner table with us. We got one that hooks on to the table and it worked great and took up much less space. If you pick a highchair, just get one that will clean up easy because it will get so gross!

I like the highchair that hooks to the counter/table. It takes up WAY less space! I would never buy a full high chair again and it can travel anywhere too! I love it!

I am old school and love my high chair. Components necessary when shopping are: how easy you can get em in/out. Is it hard to get out of, can the buckles stay put? Can you wash it easily---sometimes you end up taking everything apart. Can you put the tray in the dishwasher. Do you have space in your kitchen for a full size one? Ours has wheels on it, so we can put her right next to our table to be part of it. It can adjust to so many heights. It can fold down tiny to go next to a fridge for easy storage. i think it is great. I haven't ever heard anything good about the ones that clip on to the table, so that is fun to read on here. I will say for the ones that go on chairs, I know my sister ruined one chair cause it scratched it all up, so she got smarter and put a towel or something under it. I think it is Jodi Davis that bought the cheap Ikea one and loved it...or maybe Erika or Serena. I can't remember. Just keep looking, you'll know when you find the one you want! Good luck and keep us posted!

I liked my Chicco one. They sell it at Baby's R Us. I don't think there are many special things about high chairs, just taste in style. They all really do the same.

ours was the number one pic on consumer reports, and we got it at target. It's a Graco, and here's the exact chair at Target http://www.target.com/Graco-Family-Tree-Highchair/dp/B000MS71LQ/qid=1242956505/ref=br_1_9/178-4244930-3530407?ie=UTF8&node=12953801&frombrowse=1&rh=&page=1
We've been super happy with ours, it adjusts to different heights, the tray can come off and go into the dishwasher, and material can be wiped off easily with a rag, and it's super duper easy to fold down and folds really small too. I love it! Good luck!

I'm sorry, Hilary...I don't believe you. That little girl can do no wrong!

If you are still in the market, I have to recommend the simple Ikea plastic one It was less than $30 and if you don't like it, you are only out $30 bucks! We got it for Chloe when we she was about a year so we were not to worried about all the "baby" features. It has been great and it fits right up to our table. I think they even offer them in two more colors now. Plus it is a bit more compact than all the other bulky high chairs. It was nice in our tiny little house. (Just read Mindy's comment). We used her high chair until they moved, but she is right we do love our simple Ikea high chair!

Hope you are well! Sierra is as cute as ever :)

Yes, I am a fan of the high chair too, although you have to make sure the pad is washable ('cause it can get gross!) My advice is, don't spend a ton on it, because you can usually find something less expensive and you will be kicking yourself saying, "Why did I spend all that money on a high chair?" Our's was a Fisher Price or something, and it had the feature where you could slide the tray out with one hand and hold the baby with the other, you could also adjust the height, and how far it tilted (great for smaller babies) and you could wash everything on it. I really liked it even though it wasn't the most stylish. Good luck on your quest!
